Anam, known for his versatility, skillfully navigates the realms of satire, tackling the sensitive issues of racism in Delhi and the deep-seated colonial complex surrounding skin color prevalent among Indians.

“‘DIlli Dark’ is a very nice film that satirizes racism in Delhi. It also satirizes the colonial complex that Indians, in general, have about skin colour. I found the script very interesting. Although the theme is extremely heavy, the film is made entertainingly. We thought to put it in the festival as it's very relevant to put it in a festival,” says Shantanu Anam.

“As an actor, I find it amazing that such films come to festivals. We need validation for our work, and what is better than screenings at festivals? Just reaching the festival wouldn't have made me so happy, but all the shows have been houseful. The audience was erupting with laughter, and every note reached the audience. We are confident that the Indian audience will positively receive our film,” he adds.

Further, shedding some light on the character that he is playing Anam states, “I play a Bengali who stays in Delhi. He is not rich, gets involved with the protagonist, and enters his life. He deals with his share of racism. It's an interesting character as he says a lot of profound things but in a casual way. He has a fun way of saying this.”
