Shakti Kapoor skips music launch to take a bath

Shakti Kapoor who will be seen as a lustful doctor in Chandrapal Singh's drama, 'Bhouri', is shying away from promoting the film. And the reason is his actress-daughter Shraddha Kapoor.

The film which wrapped up over a year ago, follows the journey of five characters who represent the hierarchy in an Indian village. 'There is a collector, a shopkeeper, a manager, a businessman and a doctor. All of them lust after the women in the village. The film addressed issues of child marriage and women empowerment in a Bandit Queen-style," reveals the filmmaker.

Shraddha Kapoor kicks butt in 'Baaghi'

Shakti didn't turn up for the music launch on May 3 even though politician Amar Singh was a special guest. And later told the producer that he would not be going on the 14-city promotional tour. Chandrapal says, 'Shakti Kapoor ab Shakti Kapoor nahin rahe, woh ab Shraddha Kapoor ke papa hain. His daughter is not comfortable with him playing a sex addict with only one thought in his mind.'

Shraddha rose to fame with 'Aashiqui 2' and has 'Rock On 2', 'Half Girlfriend' and 'OK Jaanu' lined up for this year. She has just featured in 'Baaghi'.

The cast of 'Bhouri', also featuring Raghuveer Yadav, Aditya Pancholi, Manoj Joshi and Masha Paur, is set to tour Delhi, Kolkata, Indore, Ujjain and Lucknow before its June 17 release. 'We have an event planned at the Kumbh mela, too bad Shaktiji can't be a part of it because he is afraid of his daughter,' says Chandrapal.

When contacted Shakti said that he'd love to promote the film but on the day of the music launch he was shooting for another film in Madh Island. 'I had to bathe after the shoot. I knew the event would be over by the time I finished. I will definitely try to be a part of the city tours," he says.
