'Shakeela' trailer: Richa Chadha and Pankaj Tripathi's entertaining performances is sure to win you over

After a long wait, the makers of Richa Chadha and Pankaj Tripathi's upcoming film 'Shakeela' have finally released the trailer of the film. Helmed by Indrajit Lankesh gives us a glimpse of the real-life shocking story of popular late 90s star Shakeela.
The two minutes thirty-nine seconds trailer takes us on a journey of Shakeela's career and how she raised to fame in the southern cinema. Apart from that, it also shows the hardships faced by the actress in professional as well as personal life.
Talking about the film, director Lankesh said, "Shakeela is truly a labor of love and commitment to show Shakeela’s story is iconic in so many ways. Her story is almost folklore today, but the truth is that so much happened to her while she soared to success from nothing and then came back to nothing again. I’m happy that our producers are releasing the film so widely, giving me the confidence to know that it’s a film that will appeal to the larger masses. To release in so many languages was important because that was the power of Shakeela."
The Richa Chadha starrer is slated to release in cinema halls on December 25. It'll be the first film post lockdown to release in over 1000 screens in five languages - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
