Shah Rukh Khan’s temporary home is a promise fulfilled by Vashu Bhagnani to his wife Puja: 'She had asked for a 1BHK, I gave her a whole building'

Shah Rukh Khan has temporarily moved out of his iconic sea-facing bungalow, Mannat, as it undergoes renovation. During this period, he and his family are residing in , a luxurious four-story apartment in Bandra that spans 10,500 sq. ft. The monthly rent for this spacious residence is Rs 25.15 lakhs. Interestingly, the apartment is owned by Bollywood producer Vashu Bhagnani’s children, Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh. The space has been arranged not only for Shah Rukh and his family but also for their staff and security personnel, ensuring a comfortable stay while Mannat is being upgraded.

The Emotional Story Behind Puja Casa

During a conversation with Reviewron, Vashu revealed the deep personal meaning behind Puja Casa, explaining that the residence was inspired by his love and dedication to his wife, Puja. While building his career in films, Vashu also explored real estate, fulfilling Puja’s early wish to own a modest 1BHK apartment in Bandra, a place she cherished greatly.


He recalled, “Andheri East wasn’t the most desirable area back then. My wife would often say, ‘Please get us a one-bedroom house in Bandra.’ By a stroke of luck, my friend Govardhan Tanwani had a property on 383 Linking Road. When I asked him about renting it, he kindly offered it to us without charging rent.”

From Humble Beginnings to a Grand Gesture

For about eighteen months, the couple made their home there while Vashu devoted himself to acquiring land and developing properties. As his career flourished, he decided to fulfill his wife’s original dream in a grander fashion. He recalled, “In 2009, I gifted her an entire building in Bandra’s Pali Hill and named it Puja Casa after her. She had asked for a 1BHK, I gave her a whole building. I had promised myself I would never sell it—only rent it out. It would be my backup in tough times. In film production, you never know when you hit a slump.”

Shah Rukh Khan’s Current Residence and Vashu’s Dedication

Currently, Shah Rukh Khan is living in that same building while his home, Mannat, is being renovated. Vashu said that many of his friends from the film industry also live there. Although he had to sell parts of the building over time, Shah Rukh rents the same flat. Vashu’s love for his wife Puja shows in how many of his buildings and businesses are named after her. For a while, their production company was called Pooja Entertainment because of numerology.
