Shah Rukh Khan was offered THIS whopping amount for a close-up shot, reveals his 'Swades' co-star Makarand Deshpande

Makarand Deshpande, who starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan in 'Cirkus' and 'Swades,' shared a surprising anecdote. He disclosed that there was a time when individuals were willing to pay exorbitant sums just to capture a single close-up shot of the superstar.

In an interview with Lallantop Cinema, Makarand Deshpande disclosed an intriguing incident. He shared that his producer agreed to provide the necessary funds for their film on the condition that Deshpande could secure a close-up shot of Shah Rukh Khan.



Makarand reminisced about the offer he received, recalling the man's words: "Can you get a close-up of Shah Rukh? If you do, I’ll give you Rs 1 crore." He reflected on the evolving dynamics, noting that while it's now easier to connect with stars through social media, it was a challenging task in the past.




The actor from 'Sarfarosh' disclosed that Shah Rukh personally inquired about the shoot and the financial challenges. Shah Rukh then proposed, "You won’t bring the camera, I’ll bring the camera. Just get your cameramen, and we’ll shoot." Consequently, the filmmaker utilized Shah Rukh Khan’s car and camera for his shot exclusively.



Reflecting on their reunion for 'Swades' after 13 years, the director of 'Sona Spa' noted the changes in their respective careers. Ashutosh Gowariker had directed an Oscar-nominated film, Shah Rukh had ascended to King Khan status, and he himself had shifted focus to theater. Despite these changes, Shah Rukh's knowledge of his recent work upon their meeting pleasantly surprised him.
