Shah Rukh Khan refused to take a break during his shot with Puneet Issar in 'Ram Jaane': 'Assistant director told him that his body double could give cues'

Actor Puneet Issar recently opened up about with Shah Rukh Khan during the shoot of their 1995 film 'Ram Jaane'. He praised Shah Rukh's humility and generosity, recalling how the superstar waited for a shot with him without taking a break.

In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Puneet recounted a moment on set with Shah Rukh. They were shooting Ram Jaane at Kamalistan Studios, and there was an over-the-shoulder shot where the camera was favouring SRK. Puneet had to give cues for the Jawan actor in the shot, and it took almost three hours for the team to complete it.

Later, when the camera setup was about to favour Puneet, the light man requested an hour to arrange the lighting, and the production team called for a break. Puneet sat for a while, and Shah Rukh joined him. “The assistant director told Shah Rukh, ‘Sir, it is your break. Your body double can give cues to Puneet.’ Shah Rukh quickly replied, ‘When Puneet gave me cues, why can’t I give them to him?’ That’s the greatness of Shah Rukh,” he added.
