If you can't wait till January 2023 to watch Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in 'Pathaan', then this exciting update is for you!
The hit on-screen couple will soon be seen together on the big screen again as their first film 'Om Shanti Om', is set for its re-release in cinemas.
The film that clocked 15 years, is all set to be re-released in over 20 cities across the country including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Patna, Bhopal, and Ahmedabad among others. The screening is scheduled for November 17.
The idea behind the special screening of 'Om Shanti Om' is not because of the box office success of 'DDLJ' early this month, but because of an initiative by SRK's fan club - SRK Universe.
The Farah Khan directorial that marked Deepika's Bollywood debut 15 years ago, will be screened at select theatres.
The blockbuster revolves around a struggling actor, played by Shah Rukh, who falls in love with a successful actress Shantipriya (played by Deepika). But before his love could blossom and his career flourish, he dies in an accident. Thirty years later, he's reborn and avenges Shantipriya's death.
After 'Om Shanti Om', SRK and Deepika reunited in films like ' Chennai Express' (2013) and 'Happy New Year' (2014). And now the duo will be seen in 'Pathaan', which is all set to hit the theatres on January 25, 2023. 'Pathaan' is helmed by Siddharth Anand, and also stars John Abraham.
Early this month, on the occasion of SRK's birthday, the makers of 'DDLJ' re-released the film across a few theatre chains in the country. The film raked in surprising numbers at the box office despite facing competition from several other new releases.
A few months back, even Hollywood director James Cameron announced the re-release of his film 'Avatar' in theatres, ahead of the release of the sequel that hits the big screen in December.
