Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar earlier this afternoon, hosted the annual Holi bash at their home. Twinning in white, the husband wife duo also spotted matching turbans, as they soaked in the revelry of the colorful festival. Take a look..(pics by Yogen Shah)

It has been an annual tradition for Shabana Azami and Javed Akhtar to host Holi festivities at their home, Janki Kuntir. It is a tradition that was started by Shabana Azmi’s father Kaifi Azmi, and which has been taken forward by Javed and Shabana along with Tanvi and Baba Azmi.


Shabana during her conversation with Times Now, shared just that just like every year, this year also the festivities will carry on, with just one change and that is Satish Kaushik. The veteran actor passed away last year soon after attending the bash thrown by the couple. Reminiscing about her old friend, she said that Satish was full of life, always entertaining and funny. She also stated that Holi won't be the same for her now.




Ironically at last year’s bash, Shabana Azmi wasn’t present, she was shooting in Budapest for the second season of Steven Spielberg’s show Halo and Javed Akhtar took charge of Holi on his own. But she did manage to celebrate the festival with her co-stars Pablo Schreiber, David Weiner and Marisha Mukherjee.


Shabana Azmi was last seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani where she was paired opposite Dharmendra and their chemistry had become the talk of the town.
