Second virtual Yellowstone International Film Festival concludes

After a successful first edition in January, Yellowstone

International Film Festival

(YIFF) organised its second edition in June. The

film festival

has been organising quarterly YIFF screenings to showcase the work of filmmakers year-round. For its June edition, five

films

of Indian and foreign filmmakers were selected. These included Invisible Brown Man by director Roxy Shih, The Great Artist by director by Indrani Pal Chaudhuri, Unliveable by directors Matheus Farias and Enock Carvalho, Five Tigers by director Nomawonga Khumalo, Wheelchair Wendy by Shania Ghurya, and Wolf Of Chawl Street by director Pranav Bhasin.

Talking about the selection of these films, Los Angeles-based filmmaker

Tushar Tyagi

, who has created the film festival, says, "As a

filmmaker

myself, I understand how important it is to bring these independent films to the limelight and amplify them and their filmmakers. I founded this film festival with the motive of being able to provide a platform to fellow filmmakers and their voices. For these screenings, my team and I are always on the lookout for films and filmmakers with unique voices. YIFF main festival is a competition edition, that is open to all the filmmakers. However, for YIFF screenings, we reach out to a filmmaker and invite them to submit their film. Yellowstone International Film Festival's programming team thoroughly reviews the film and if we think the film has some kind of message that might resonate with our audience we program those films. We recently wrapped up a very successful second edition. We plan to bring more exciting films and workshops for filmmakers in our third session scheduled in February of 2022."

For its first edition, the film festival screened over 70 short films, documentaries, and feature films which were a mix of Indian and foreign films.
