Vikrant Massey's new film 'Cargo' has been creating a buzz for its subject of a spaceship that comes close to Earth every morning and waits for dead people.
A rare Indian sci-fi film, it's directed by
Arati Kadav, who reportedly told a tabloid that the film has been at 'one-millionth the budget of Gravity'. However, the budget constraints did not deter the makers of the film.
On the contrary, producer
Anurag Kashyap and executive producer
Vikramaditya Motwane were quite impressed by the spaceship designed for the film. They saw promise in the script and backed her on it.
Arati recalled the challenges in the interview to the tabloid and said that they first developed a comprehensive storyboard. The inspiration for the spaceship came from the bio-mechanism of jelly fish.
The filmmaker is happy that her film, which also stars
Shweta Tripathi, has been chosen for the MAMI Spotlight section. She reportedly said that it validates her belief.
