Giving her rape complaint to the police under Section 164 CrPC, the 35-year-old PhD scholar of Columbia University started sobbing and said that Mahmood Farooqui had broken the trust of friendship and crossed all limits. "I came to Delhi in June 2014 for field work and was introduced to Farooqui through a common friend," she said. According to her complaint, on March 28 she called him to ask for the invite to his performance the next day and he asked her to collect it from his house.
A few hours later, he called her again and asked her to join in for a wedding. "I said yes thinking his wife and him would attend the wedding. I left for his house but got late," the complaint reads.
LISTEN: Songs of Peepli Live on Gaana.com When she reached Farooqui's house in Sukhdev Vihar around 9.30pm, she saw two students leaving the place. She didn't find Rizvi in the house. After saying 'Hi' to both the students, when she entered the house she found Farooqui "drunk and crying," the woman has written in her complaint.

"I asked him if he wanted a group hug and called our mutual friend, but he said he couldn't come. I went to the porch to smoke when he came and kissed me. I said this is definitely not what you want after which he asked me to sit on the sofa. He kissed me, pinned me down and sexually assaulted me," the woman told cops.

When she stood up to go, he asked her to wait. He said "you will feed me" if my wife doesn't come. She waited till Rizvi came back, but said nothing to her. She then hired a cab and left. Police said the woman claims that the incident happened in a span of 15 minutes.
