Indian Film Company (Studio 18) has filed a criminal case against director Sanjay Gadhvi. The case was registered at the Delhi High Court on June 5 under section 420 of the Indian Penal Code.
Indian Film Company has apparently claimed wrongful loss of Rs 5.2 crore as also other losses caused on the account of the acts and omissions of Sanjay Gadhvi. Allegedly, the loss has accrued due to the fact that the director hasn’t faithfully delivered the script of 7 Days in Paris according to schedule.
Our source said, “Indian Films had signed Sanjay Gadhvi for two films in January 2008 and paid him Rs 4 crore as advance.

They conceptually approved the first film 7 Days in Paris in October 2008. After that, Studio 18 had spoken to actors. The first time Studio 18 approached Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif to play the leads and both consented to the project for specific dates.
Since Sanjay Gadhvi didn’t have the final script ready in time, they committed to other films. After that, Studio 18 approached Neil Nitin Mukesh and Genelia, but both actors are still waiting for the director’s final script.
They had hired not only the entire production crew, but had also sent recce teams to Paris, Prague and other locations. But allegedly the final script was never delivered. Finally, Studio 18 has taken a drastic step and filed a criminal complaint.”
The spokesperson of Nishith Desai Associates, lawyers of Indian Film Company, said, “We note that the matter was filed before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, New Delhi.”
Despite repeated calls and text messages, Sanjay Gadhvi remained unavailable for comment.
