Sanjay Dutt travels to Nepal for Pashupatinath temple visit, connects with fans and explores local cuisine
Sanjay Dutt recently travelled to Nepal for a short but meaningful trip that combined spirituality, fan interactions, and culinary exploration. The actor finally fulfilled his long-cherished wish of visiting the sacred Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu, accompanied by close friend and actor Rahul Mittra.
The trip had been on Sanjay Dutt’s mind for several years but had to be postponed earlier due to political unrest in Nepal from September 8, 2025. Addressing concerns around the situation, Rahul Mittra clarified, “The situation is peaceful and everything is fine now. We are artists and we stay away from politics.”
Dutt’s devotion to Lord Shiva is well known. During his imprisonment in April 1993 for illegal possession of arms, the actor often read the Shiv Puran. Speaking about the timing of the visit, Mittra shared, “Sanju has a strong connection with Lord Shiva. Baba ka bulawa aaya hai toh jana hi hai ab. It is a well-timed visit. We have been concerned about the political unrest, that is the reason that we timed it for this year. My friends there tell me that the situation is much better now.”
Mittra has previously collaborated with Dutt in films like ‘Torbaaz’ and ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster’.
Mittra further added, “We will indulge in the local Himalayan delicacies like the national dish dal bhat, dumplings, lentil patty bara, noodle soups, and mutton katiya, among other things.”
The Nepal trip is a brief pause between packed work schedules, with Sanjay Dutt and Rahul Mittra expected to return by the following night. Despite its short duration, the journey promises to be spiritually enriching and personally rewarding.
