In 2020, the actor faced a massive health scare when he was diagnosed with cancer. Maanayata was constantly by his side all through his treatment. After successfully undergoing treatment, the actor had taken to his social media handle to pen an emotional message, "The last few weeks were a very difficult time for my family and me. But as they say, God gives the hardest battles to his strongest soldiers. And today, on the occasion of my kids’ birthday, I am happy to come out victorious from this battle and be able to give them the best gift I can--the health and well-being of our family.''
On the work front, Sanjay Dutt will be seen next in 'Shamshera' with Ranbir Kapoor The film will hit theatres on July 22, 2022.
