Ali Fazal and friend Ajay Arora. While the shooting of the film began in Mumbai on Dutt's mother Nargis Dutt's birthday on June 1, in Lucknow, Sanjay began the shooting on his father Sunil Dutt's birthday on Wednesday, June 6.

On Wednesday, the first shot was canned early in the morning at 6am with the local actors shooting a scene of a protest in front of the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Gomti Nagar.
The 'Naam' actor will be shooting for the film in and around the state capital for almost two months. The film, a remake of the 2010 Telugu superhit 'Prasthaanam', is being directed by
Deva Katta and also stars Manisha Koirala as Dutt's wife, Jackie Shroff, Amyra Dastur and
Chunky Pandey. Actor
Satyajeet Dubey, who arrived in Lucknow a couple of days ago, plays Dutt's son in the film.

The shooting will take place at various locations in and around the city including the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Gomti Riverfront, Aunty House on Havelock Road and at various places in old Lucknow, as well.
The 'Khalnayak' actor is portraying the role of Loki while Ali Fazal will be essaying the role of Mitra, his stepson in the film.
