Sangram Singh says he and Payal Rohatgi are planning for surrogacy: ‘Bachchon ki kami khalta nahi hai...but parenthood is on our minds’
Wrestler and actor Sangram Singh recently shut down rumours of divorce with wife Payal Rohatgi as the couple celebrated their third wedding anniversary. While the special day was meant to be filled with love and reflection, it was instead marred by speculation about their relationship hitting a rough patch. Now, has not only addressed those rumours head-on but has also opened up about an exciting new chapter in their journey together, embracing parenthood.
In an interview with News18, Sangram revealed that he and Payal are actively planning to become parents and are considering surrogacy as a path forward.
“Bachchon ki kami khalta nahi hai... but yes, we’re planning for surrogacy”
For those unaware, Payal and Sangram have been candid in the past about their struggles to conceive. Payal previously revealed that she underwent multiple unsuccessful IVF treatments before marrying Sangram and has been trying to get pregnant for the last five years.
Sangram shared, “Bachchon ki kami khalta nahi hai. We’re planning for surrogacy, but the laws are very different now. A few people in the past had misused surrogacy laws in the country.”
Despite the challenges, the couple remains hopeful. Sangram added that while they are trying, both he and Payal still feel like children themselves. “We keep arguing over small things. But when it’s the right time, we’ll embrace parenthood. It’s all up to god,” he said.
Sangram also expressed his longing for a house full of joy and children, reminiscing about his own childhood growing up with many siblings and eight step-brothers. He reflected on how times have changed, noting how many people today choose not to marry or have children at all.
Sharing a sweet anecdote, he said, “In my village, kids come and show me their cartwheel skills. It feels really nice. When I train, they come and join me. I treat them with fruits.”
“Her universe begins and ends with me”
Despite their differences, Sangram spoke fondly of his wife, calling her a perfectionist and someone who wears her emotions on her sleeve.
“Payal ji bahot ziddi hai. We're very different people. I feel like I haven’t been able to figure her out yet. But she’s transparent. If she’s angry, she’ll express it—she won’t backstab or speak behind your back. Aise log achche hote hai,” he said.
He concluded with a touching line that summed up their enduring bond: “She fights with me, but I also know that her universe begins and ends with me. Toh mere se nahi toh kisse karegi?”
