Getting a house on rent in Mumbai is a tedious process, especially for actors. And Samarth Shandilya agrees. The Delhi boy
recently moved houses in Mumbai. He says that it was a big challenge to find a decent place. Sharing his experience, he tells us, “I used to live in a 1BHK in Mumbai earlier, but now that I am married, I was looking for a bigger house. It was so difficult to find a place. The whole process was traumatic. And for actors, to get a good flat in a decent society is a big challenge. I lost on so many good societies because of my showbiz background.”

The Perfect Pati actor adds, “Many people, including me, left Mumbai amid the pandemic and when things got better, people came back in huge numbers, which resulted in a rush. Rent went up, too. After a lot of searching, I finally got a nice, pet-friendly place in Andheri. House hunting in Mumbai is as strenuous as preparing for UPSC. I have rented out my properties in Delhi, and the system here is totally opposite of what we witnessed in Mumbai.”

On the work front, Samarth, who has been a part of films like Sabki Bajegi Band and Jai Mummy Di, has signed another film, Radhika Madan-starrer Sanaa. Visibly excited about it, he says “Sudhanshu Saria (director) called me and offered the part. He is a National Award-winning director, so I broke into a little dance while on the call with him (laughs). The film is an introspective drama following a headstrong and ambitious girl, raging against an internal battle.” He says he can’t wait for the film to release and is all praise for the cast and crew. “I got to work with the most talented team on this project, and there was only love and positive vibes on the sets. I am supremely excited for this one,” he shares.
