Wedding Times: Samantha’s quiet luxury wedding look; red bride & diamond sparkler
Samantha Ruth Prabhu and filmmaker Raj Nidimoru’s wedding in December was an intimate affair, held at a temple in Coimbatore. Apart from the fuss-free nature of the ceremony, what caught everyone’s attention was the actor’s wedding ring, and the couple’s simple yet elegant outfit choices. Here are all the deets for you to get inspired by.
Samantha’s choice for the ceremony was a quintessential, handwoven red Banarasi sari, crafted in pure katan satin silk and made by a single master artisan. Designed by Arpita Mehta, the quiet elegance of the sari was meant to mirror the actor’s personality. “Samantha knew exactly what she wanted. It was a very intimate wedding, and she was clear that she wanted a simple red Banarasi sari with minimal yet beautiful, understated detailing. Samantha comes across as a strong woman with a deep spiritual connection. That sense of clarity and groundedness guided every design choice,” Arpita told us.
Sharing details of the design, the designer said, “The details were chosen thoughtfully. The sari featured delicate powder‑zari buttis, a nishi‑woven border enhanced by subtle beige‑gold zardozi embroidery using saadi taar, cutt dana, kasab embroidery, and tiny mirrors, creating an understated yet rich finish. For her blouse, we got artist Jayati Bose to create a special motif. Rooted in the deepest ocean floors and crowned by Devi’s blissful sight, the Jamdani tree of life celebrates a union blessed by the watchful eye of the goddess.”
A diamond moment that stole the show
Samantha paired her Banarasi sari with classic gold jewellery and a low bun adorned with flowers. But what became a headline-grabber was the ring, designed by Greek jeweller Theodoros Savopoulos. A striking two-carat lozenge portrait-cut diamond ring with eight diamonds surrounding it in a delicate, petal-like pattern.

Raj Nidimoru chose a custom Tarun Tahiliani ensemble.
