Salman Khan's comments on Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan's marriage go viral amid divorce rumours: 'She is someone's wife now...'

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, married to Abhishek Bachchan since 2007, was once in a much-talked-about relationship with Salman Khan in the early 2000s. While they’ve mostly stayed quiet about their past, Salman opened up about their relationship and Aishwarya’s marriage to Abhishek during an interview.

During his appearance on Aap Ki Adalat, the actor was asked about allegations of abusive behaviour during his relationship with Aishwarya, Salman responded, saying, “What can I say about that, sir? I believe personal lives should remain personal. If I defend myself, it would mean denying that someone was once an important part of my life.”

Salman went on to share his best wishes for Aishwarya and praised Abhishek, saying, "The best thing to do is stay silent. It’s been years now. She’s happily married into a wonderful family, and I am very happy for her. Abhishek is a great guy. As an ex, you always want the other person to be happy—it also helps ease any guilt you might feel."



This old interview clip has resurfaced amid rumors about trouble in Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai’s marriage. Speculation began earlier this year when they attended Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding separately—Aishwarya with daughter Aaradhya and Abhishek with his parents and sister. The rumours grew stronger when Abhishek didn’t publicly wish Aishwarya on her birthday.
