Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher: Bollywood celebrities who have heavy security cover

Bollywood celebrities enter public spaces with a heavily guarded security cover, lest some fan gets too close for comfort. Apart from their admirers, actors and filmmakers also face threats from their detractors and hence they are given security cover depending upon the threat they face. From Salman Khan to Akshay Kumar and Anupam Kher- take a look at actors who have been grated security covers by the government.

Salman Khan: Y+ security

Salman Khan previously had X security but the Protection branch of the Mumbai police decided that the same should be upgraded to Y+ since he has received several death threats from the Bishnoi gang recently. Recent reports also revealed that members of the gang were stationed outside Salman’s Panvel farmhouse as part of a conspiracy to kill him. Hence, for his safety, the actor will now be accompanied by two armed guards wherever he goes, while a couple of guards will also be on duty at his residence.

Akshay Kumar: X category

Akshay Kumar enjoys huge popularity but he also faces equal amounts of brickbats. Since the actor is often targeted on social media and faces multiple threats, the Government of Maharashtra has granted him X plus security cover. Akshay Kumar will be reportedly accompanied by three personal security officers who will work in three shifts.

Anupam Kher: X category

Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri: Y category

Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri earned a lot of praise for ‘The Kashmir Files’, which also minted huge moolah at the box office. Soon after the film’s release, Vivek had opened up about the death threats he faced and he was provided with Y category security cover because of the perception of threat. The filmmaker was provided with eight officers, which reportedly included two commandos and police personnel.
