The legendary scriptwriter, who won the Filmfare Award for ‘Zanjeer’, handed over the trophy to the director-duo of ‘Chillar Party’. Doting father Salim Khan is giving away one of his most precious possessions to the directors of Chillar Party, which is son Salman Khan's maiden production venture. The legendary scriptwriter, who along with partner Javed Akhtar, had won his first Filmfare award for Zanjeer (1973), handed over the trophy to Vikas Bahl and Nitesh Tiwari after watching the film.
“This is my way of appreciating good work that I come across”, says Salim Khan. “Salman has associated himself with a good product. If films like Chillar Party work, good films will be encouraged. We should appreciate such movies” “Chillar Party is genuine, honest and compassionate. It's also difficult to make a film like this because the cast includes untrained kids and a dog. I hope such films are made more often”, adds Salim Khan. The director duo is, of course, elated. “It's a great feeling. As far as awards go, Salim sir's appreciation has sorted that part. Seriously, we couldn't have asked for a bigger compliment. Now, we wait for the audience's response,” says Vikas Bahl.
