Salim Jr in films

For youngster Faraaz Salim, these are indeed exciting times. Son of actress Lubna and theatre director-producer Salim Arif, Faraaz has turned to filmmaking.
The young fella has assisted on Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola. “Matru... happened to me by chance. I had just finished college last year and had nothing better to do. That’s when Vishal sir (director Vishal Bhardwaj) met my parents and suggested that I join his team for this film.And bas, that was it. Sooner than I realized, I was one of the assistant directors in his team,” shares Faraaz.
In Lucknow to attend a wedding with his parents, Faraaz tells us he will also be assisting director Abhishek Chaubey during the shooting of Dedh Ishqiya in town. “I hope it won’t be as cold as this in February?”
Faraaz inquires, adding, “Varna main toh thand se marr hi jaunga!”
Unlike his parents, who’ve both spent time on stage, Faraaz prefers behind-the-scene action.
