Salim Diwan. As Rohit, an aspiring actor who works in a call centre and is passionate about Hindi films, he has truly lived the role.
A prominent critic says, 'Salim Diwan's 'deewangi' is particularly disturbing as he struggles desperately to make it big in Bollywood. It is not a pleasant sight to see the young man making a complete fool of himself before the judges or ' in another notable scene of self-degradation ' in front of a hotshot director and his cronies.'
'Bollywood Diaries' is about ordinary people with extraordinary dreams That said, it hasn't been an easy journey for Salim in real life as well, ever since he decided to try his luck in Bollywood. Hailing from a business family in Rajasthan, it was his passion for films that prompted him to come to Mumbai a few years ago. The first step for him was to learn the ropes of acting from theatre legends.
He says, 'I am humbled and overwhelmed with the appreciation. I hope I have managed to express myself well. The industry has taken notice too and there is some good work in store for me.'
