Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, whose '
Mirzya
' marks
Anil Kapoor's son Harshvardhan and actress
Saiyami Kher's debut, had a task on hand. The filmmaker had to make his artistes look believable in the parts they play. In no hurry to start and finish the project, Mehra ensured that the debutante lead pair underwent intense and extensive training for a year before shooting for the film.
The newcomers didn't disappoint their director. Apart from transforming physically as per the requirement of their roles, Harshvardhan and Saiyami shifted base to Delhi for the rigorous prep where their days began as early as 6.30 am with lessons in galloping, followed by workshops in the noon and another round of horse riding before calling it a day.
Harsh suffered injuries, but within six months, the actors picked up all the requisite skills for their parts.
After completing his training in the Capital, Harsh took off to Seattle where he lived on a ranch on the outskirts of the city for two months with 30 horses. He even learnt archery, which is an integral part of
Mirza-Sahiban
's love story. Harsh and Saiyami also learnt to ride a bike.
The newbies have not left any stone unturned for their debut, and have now left their fate to the audience.
'Mirzya', produced by Cinestaan Film Company & ROMP Pictures, and directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra releases on October 7.
