Mumbai Police have identified a suspect in the attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, revealing that the intruder used a fire escape staircase to enter the building. Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam stated that the motive behind the attack appears to be burglary. The investigation is ongoing, with multiple teams working to apprehend the suspect.

Dr. Nitin Dange from Lilavati Hospital reported that Saif Ali Khan sustained a significant injury to his thoracic spinal cord due to a knife lodged in his spine. Emergency surgery was performed to remove the knife and address the spinal fluid leakage. Khan is currently stable and recovering well.

In a statement, Dr Dange said, "Saif Ali Khan was admitted to the hospital at 2 am with an alleged history of assault by some unknown person. He sustained a major injury to the thoracic spinal cord due to a lodged knife in the spine. A surgery was performed to remove the knife and repair leaking spinal fluid. Two other deep wounds on his left hand and one other on his neck were repaired by the plastic surgery team. He is completely stable now. He is recovering well and out of danger."

On January 16, 2025, an intruder confronted Saif Ali Khan's maid at his home in the 'Satguru Sharan' building in Bandra. When Saif tried to help, a fight broke out, and he was injured. The actor was taken to Lilavati Hospital for treatment. Mumbai Police have identified a suspect who entered the building using the staircase, and they believe the attack was motivated by burglary.
