Saif Ali Khan stabbing case: Mumbai police collects actor’s blood samples and clothes

Mumbai Police has gathered key evidence in the ongoing investigation into the knife attack on actor Saif Ali Khan. According to a report in IANS, the police have collected his blood samples and seized the clothes he was wearing on January 16, the day of the incident.

In addition, authorities have also confiscated the clothing worn by the accused, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, to aid in the forensic examination and strengthen the case.


According to police sources, the accused's clothes have visible blood spots, which will be analyzed and matched with actor Saif Ali Khan's blood samples.

The blood samples and clothes of actor Saif Ali Khan and the accused, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for analysis. The aim is to determine if the blood found on the accused's clothes matches that of the actor.

On Friday, Saif Ali Khan recorded his statement with the Mumbai Police. He revealed that the accused demanded Rs 1 crore, attacked the nanny, and, when Saif intervened, Shehzad stabbed him multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Actor Saif Ali Khan suffered stab injuries after an intruder broke into his Bandra apartment through a duct in an apparent burglary attempt. A preliminary police investigation revealed that the accused, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, entered the home intending to rob.

Shehzad, who had illegally crossed into India from Bangladesh last year, was arrested on January 19 in Thane near Mumbai. Police confirmed that fingerprints collected from Saif’s apartment matched Shehzad’s.

However, controversy arose when Shehzad’s father, Md Ruhul Amin Fakir, told IANS that the person seen in CCTV footage from the actor’s home does not resemble his son.

The incident has sparked strong reactions from both Bollywood and political circles. While Bollywood celebrities have expressed concern over security and wished Saif a speedy recovery, Opposition leaders have criticized the Mahayuti government for alleged lapses in safety.

Adding to the controversy, Maharashtra Ports and Fisheries Minister Nitesh Rane raised doubts about the incident, questioning whether Saif was actually stabbed or if it was a staged act.
