Post the pandemic restrictions were lifted,
Sai Tamhankar has travelled for work in India. But the Mimi actress took her first long vacation in almost five years recently! Speaking to us, Sai, who returned to Mumbai from Spain 0n Tuesday (June 27), says that it was a long overdue trip, and she felt so normal travelling without a mask and without being recognised.
Excerpts from a chat:
A song of flamenco, fiesta and Thrones Besides relaxing and roaming around the streets of Spain sans the flashlights and fanfare, Sai explored the region’s best. “I had good food, including paella and Padron peppers, which are basically fried green peppers, watched a flamenco performance and had a blast,” said the actress who also celebrated her birthday in Spain. The self-confessed GoT fan adds, “All the GoT filming locations in Spain were on the top of my visit list. I went to Itzurun beach, the location of Dragonstone from the show, and Seville, and loved being there.
I am a huge Game of Thrones fan and plan to visit all locations that the show has been shot at. Spain had quite a few of them

‘Not a solo trip’ Her photos from Spain confirmed that Sai had a good photographer for company there. But we asked her anyway – Was this a solo trip? “It wasn’t a solo trip. I had company. My personal photographer,” she laughed.
As actors we glam up daily. But my personal choice when off work is to live carefree. I feel great to roam around like a normal person where no one recognises me. It makes me feel grounded

Workaholic v/s Traveller It’s a choice between two things she loves but Sai said, “When I take a vacation, I feel guilty of wasting time. But I have realised that it is important to take that time out for yourself. I think I deserved every bit of this vacation and I made the most of it.” Does she have a vacation hangover though? “I do miss the place I’ve been to, but I’ve never had a problem returning to work after a break. If I am offered a great job in the middle of my vacation, I’ll probably take that up too, Sai shared.
