Actor Sai Pallavi made an emotional and heartfelt speech at a promotional event for her Hindi debut film, ‘Ek Din ki Mehfil’, where she shared the stage with
Aamir Khan and
Junaid Khan.
The actress, who was invited on-stage to share a few words, apologised to the audience for her limited command of the Hindi language and warned the audience of her common grammatical mistakes while making an attempt to speak in Hindi.
Addressing attendees, Pallavi admitted she had not prepared to speak in Hindi. She said, "I didn't know we were going to speak at the event. At least I would've learned something in Hindi. Personally, I thank you so much."
The actor requested the audience to excuse her grammatical errors, adding, "Thank you so much. This evening was great. When I look back at my journey in the industry, I don't know what work I have done, but I felt happy that whatever I have done, it brings me to films with people that are so talented and I end up being so humbled."
Pallavi also shared her appreciation for her film journey, saying, "Today was a very emotional day for me, because I didn't know this was happening. Whatever I've done has led me here and I'm grateful for the journey."
Thanking her team and co-stars, she made a special mention of Aamir Khan. “Thank you Aamir Sir for putting me in a space like this and making me a part of this movie, where I am able to enjoy this and feel so much love,” she said, adding "This is my first Hindi film, and I'm actually quite nervous. But it's an absolutely beautiful journey."
Pallavi also struck a lighter note during her speech, saying, “At least Aamir sir is crazy enough to be so emotional in public, but although I love my scenes, I wish the lights were dim so that I can be more emotional.”
