Former Mr India and actor Sachin Khurana who has worked in films like ‘Ankur Arora Murder Case’, ‘Dasvidaniya’ and others, will now be seen in a film with
Iqbal Khan, Shafaq Naaz and Abha Parmar.
Shadaab Khan has directed this film that is really close to Sachin’s heart. “The film is about the age-old issue that the woman is still blamed for bearing a girl child and not many know that it is the man whose chromosome determines the sex of the child,” says Sachin.
Talking about how the film and the story took shape,
Sachin shared, “The film is actually based on the idea of a 17 year old boy. In fact the idea was of Devansh Saraf, 17, who spoke to people around him and found out that 70 per cent of the people didn't know about this simple fact and that was despite the fact that 80 per cent of these people were educated. Devansh found that people had no knowledge about how the sex of the child is actually determined. He discussed the idea with me and we came to the conclusion that it is essential to make a film on this subject.”
The film has Iqbal Khan, Shafaq Naaz and Abha Parmar and the latter plays the mother in law. “I acting in the film and I have the role of playing the doctor who explains the relevance of chromosomes in determining the sex of the unborn child.”
Once the story idea was in place, the team researched about this and ensured that the end product should not be self-righteous and moralising. “We worked on the script with the director Shadab, and made sure that the film is not preachy yet drives home the point. Rather we wanted to showcase the issue simply and effectively,” says Sachin.
Talking about how the pandemic changed things for everyone, Sachin says, “Television actors are basically actors who have been branded as TV actors because they get seen more on TV. But in the last couple of years of the pandemic serious actors who are serious about their craft have really worked on their acting abilities and post the pandemic the casting directors have been recommending good actors not looking at the fact that are TV actors or actors from any other particular genre. If an actor fits the role and creates magic in it, they are on for sure.”
