Rufy Khan thrilled about debut in Rohan Sippy’s film

Newcomer Rufy Khan is elated to make his debut in director Rohan Sippy’s 'Nautanki Saala'. The actor, who plays a funny character named Loli, also owes his big break to some commercials he did with top stars — one with Shah Rukh Khan, an ad for a two-wheeler with Priyanka Chopra and a cola commercial with Kareena Kapoor. He recalls, “The ads got me noticed and the casting director for Rohan’s film contacted me.After a couple of auditions, they were convinced that I suited the character.”
Before he started shooting, Rufy participated in an extensive workshop with the lead actors of the film — AyushmannKhurrana and Kunaal Roy Kapur — conducted by Rohan. “Initially, my body language and all was like that of a model, but after two days, I settled in,” says the newbie, adding that at first he thought his director is a strict and tough task master. “But after a few days, I saw that Rohan is a cool and friendly guy. He’s humble and makes you comfortable on the set. That helped in easing the pressure considerably. The workshop of eight hours daily for about three weeks was like a shooting schedule. So, when we actually started filming, it was like a cakewalk.”
