‘Roohi’ to ‘Bhoot Police’ – Five spooky films to watch out for

Bollywood filmmakers seem to be banking on the horror genre in 2021 instead of the usual romance and action routine. A slew of spooky films are in the making, all set to terrify the audience! From mysterious narratives to ghostbusters taking the lead - gear up for a good dose of horror as Bollywood has some exciting tricks up its sleeves.

Phone Bhoot

The quirky trio of Katrina Kaif, Ishaan Khatter, and Siddhant Chaturvedi is all set to tickle the funny bone along with bringing in the scares for the audience with ‘Phone Bhoot’. The horror-comedy is being directed by Gurmeet Singh and produced by Farhan Akhtar. While Katrina, Ishaan and Siddhant have been extensively shooting for the film, the makers plan to release it this year itself. Triple trouble in the offing!

3/6

Bhoot Police

Saif Ali Khan and Arjun Kapoor have turned ghostbusters for horror flick ‘Bhoot Police’. “Both of them will be seen in very different avatars and will bring their trademark humour to the script,” a source had previously informed Mumbai Mirror. The Pavan Kirpalani directorial is a spooky adventure featuring Yami Gautam and Jacqueline Fernandez as the leading ladies. Packed with thrills and chills, ‘Bhoot Police’ is being shot across the country.

4/6

Roohi

Rajkummar Rao spooked fans with ‘Stree’ and is back with yet another horror-comedy titled ‘Roohi’. This time the actor has been paired opposite Janhvi Kapoor. The trailer of ‘Roohi’ is laced with comedy but the horror element can't be discounted too. This Hardik Mehta directorial, which releases on release on March 11, will be one of the first biggies to hit the screens post the reopening of theatres.

5/6

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2

Anees Bazmee is promising yet another scary movie with Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani-starrer ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’, which also features Tabu. This film is a sequel to Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan starrer ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’, which had released in 2007.

6/6

Chhori

Nushratt Bharuccha is all set to scare the audience with her next film ‘Chhori’. The film is a Hindi remake of Marathi horror-mystery ‘Lapachhapi’. While the Marathi movie was all about running from spooky spirits, it remains to be seen how Vishal Furia will visualise the tale. While announcing the film, Nushratt had shared, "Something shockingly scary is coming your way!”
