Rohit Shetty residence firing: Mumbai Police invoke the stringent MCOCA against accused
Rohit Shetty was in the headlines after gunshots were fired at his house on February 1, 2026, at around 12:45 am. One of the bullets that was shot reportedly struck the glass of a gym inside the building. The Mumbai police tracked down the shooters; however, the main culprit is still absconding. Now, according to the latest development in the case, MCOCA has been invoked against the accused. Let's learn more about it.
As per the report, the Anti-Extortion Cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch has apprehended five persons linked to the firing incident in Juhu. The custody of these accused ended on Wednesday, and they were produced before the special MCOCA court in the evening, an official said.
"Some of the accused are already involved in serious offenses. The crime branch has invoked sections of stringent MCOCA in the case," he said.

Reportedly, the cops have so far arrested Aditya Gayaki (19), Siddharth Yenpure (20), Samarth Pomaji (18), Swapnil Sakat (23), and Asaram Fasale.
The main culprit, Shubham Lonkar, who reportedly ordered the firing, belongs to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and is among the wanted accused in the case. He purportedly took responsibility for the firing at Shetty's residence.
Lonkar is also wanted in the NCP leader Baba Siddique murder case and the firing at Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence in Bandra.
