Filmmaker Rohit Shetty is known for his extravagant movies, featuring the A-listers in the industry. The director's recent revelation suggests that his life wasn’t always rainbows and butterflies. The ‘Singham’ director recently opened up about boarding the early morning Mumbai local train to get to school. He also spoke about the glum time, when his father passed away and financial difficulties burdened his mother.

In a conversation with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa, Rohit Shetty revealed that he used to catch the 5:45 am local train to reach his school in Santacruz. He recalled his father’s death, and during that time they used to live in Santacruz, however, when his mother’s savings got exhausted, they shifted to Dahisar, his grandmother’s place. “I never felt why this is happening to me. We always fought and worked hard,” Rohit Shetty recalled. He also added that he was street smart and learned a lot at a very young age because of Mumbai.

Rohit Shetty also spoke about his love for Mumbai. “I was born and brought up here. One thing that has not changed is Mumbai’s people is the spirit. It is something different,” he expressed. He also stated that whenever he lands in Mumbai, his anxiety levels go high, and wanting him to work. “How much ever you say, ‘I will relax today,’ you can’t sit idle for more than one day and that’s why the city is progressive,” he added.

Rohit Shetty also spoke about his observation of hard-working people in the city, who put in the effort to make ends meet. He mentioned the housewives from lower middle-class families selling poha in the afternoon and old people driving autos.
