Rohan Sippy reveals why he’s stayed away from directing films

Bollywood's ace filmmaker Rohan Sippym, who is well-known for movies like 'Kuch Naa Kaho', 'Bluffmaster!' and 'Dum Maaro Dum' and recently helmed 'Duranga 2', opened up about why he’s stayed away from directing feature films lately.
In an interview with Indian Express, Rohan Sippy shared that he’s not stopped making films but is waiting for the right opportunity.The filmmaker mentioned that in the meantime, he is also working on creatively challenging content on the web so that he gets an opportunity to work with actors like Pankaj Tripathi.
According to him, it is more challenging than a film in that sense and doing a show like 'Duranga 2' is like working on three feature films, the sheer length of it, in two and a half month’s time, so you work under a lot of pressure, with no room for pressure. Rohan expressed that there has been a good time for cinema but now the important thing to learn is to give an experience to the audience. He said a lot of the dramas are now available on OTT so he feels that it would be difficult to do a feature film now.

The filmmaker further added that he would love to do something that would have the kind of music je grew up with. So he thinks there is an opportunity for that if done nicely and see how families — from young kids to older members — react and connect to it.
