RJ Mahavash on dating Yuzvendra Chahal: It was always friendship; opens up on fallout: Behzbaazi mein unfollow hogaya (Exclusive)
As RJ Mahvash steadily transitions to acting, public curiosity around her personal life, especially her much-discussed bond with cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, continues. For the first time, Mahvash addresses the speculation surrounding their relationship and why she refuses to let internet narratives define her friendships.
Mahvash, who hails from Aligarh, recalls the challenges she faced convincing her family to allow her to move to a metro city and pursue a career in entertainment. “For me, just studying in a metro city and doing radio itself was a huge thing. I got permission for that with great difficulty,” she says.
In recent times, rumours linking her with Chahal have frequently surfaced online. However, Mahvash insists her family was never troubled by the speculation. “He had met my family, and they were also very friendly with him. They never objected because they knew there was no such relationship to object to,” she shares.
Talking about reports of a fallout after the two unfollowed each other on social media, she says the incident was blown out of proportion. “We were friends. Sometimes arguments happen and people unfollow each other. It’s not such a big deal the way people make it out to be,” she adds.
Despite the buzz online, Mahvash maintains there is no bitterness between them. “I will always wish him all the best in life. I believe anger and hatred should only exist till the point where, if that person were on a hospital bed, you could still turn your face away. Otherwise, there’s no point. Life is short and I am a very forgiving person,” she says, adding, “People with whom you have laughed loudly and shared moments with — those friendships never really break. Behzbaazi mein unfollow ho gaya, but I will always wish him the best.”
‘I don’t think social media following is the reason anyone gets work’On the work front, the actress, who will soon be seen in Zee 5's Satrangi, also dismisses the assumption that her social media popularity alone helped her secure acting opportunities. “I don’t think social media following is the reason anyone gets work. This project also had three rounds of auditions and I cleared all of them. So it’s definitely not because of my following,” she says.
