Rituparna Sengupta to celebrate Durga Puja with Mumbai’s all-women team Ananda Utsav

National award-winning actress Rituparna Sengupta, known for depicting strong women characters on screen, will be the guest of honour on Saptami, October 21, at Mumbai's only all-women Durga Puja, organized by the Ananda Utsav Cultural Association.

Talking about the upcoming event the actress says, "I am happy to be part of an all-women Durga Puja in Mumbai. With all my work here, I look forward to celebrating Durga Puja with Mumbaikars this year." Her recent success with Datta identifies with the thinking women of today.

The actress who is known for her plethora of Bengali films has also worked a lot in the Hindi film industry with films like Teesra Kaun?, Aakrosh, Mittal v/s Mittal, Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, Do Knot Disturb, Fox, Love Khichdi, Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh and many others.

Gargi Chattopadhyay, president of Ananda Utsav Durga Puja adds, "Music binds all of us and we at Ananda Utsav are a cultural association who has connected with likeminded Bengalis who have settled in Mumbai, celebrating culture and tradition. We are excited to have Rituparna Sengupta, who has always portrayed powerful women in movies.”

Talkinga about the many highlights of the puja, Gargi adds, “Apart from the rituals, our Puja has a Masterchef contest which will be judged by Anjan Chatterjee, a fashion show and Bangla folk, Sufi, Bollywood retro musical programs. We are also donating 400 books to Apnalaya, an NGO for their library. We welcome all Mumbaikars to visit our Puja at Trento Lawns, Siddharth Nagar, Goregaon West from Oct 20-24.”
