Riteish’s Rann against child abuse!

Riteish Deshmukh these days scours the newspapers for the headlines. And issues matter a lot to him as well. The reason, the character that he essays in his latest flick Rann is that of an investigative journalist. And the character has left an indelible mark on the actor.
Says Riteish, “As an actor, you essay characters, but this one was different. More so, when during the film promotion, I actually went and did the job of an investigative journalist.It wasn’t easy to get to places where the actual events happened, to persuade people to shoot at locations that mattered. It was a different experience.” However, the scribe in Riteish is still itching to do more. “There are so many issues that run on my mind. Child abuse is one such issue. I want us to be more aware, more responsible and if I am an investigative journalist, this is one issue that I will tackle for sure.” Riteish is glad he is playing a scribe in Rann that has been produced by Cinergy Pictures and directed by Ram Gopal Varma. “The character I portray is of a person who is all that a journalist should be. He is a common man who wants to make a difference.”
Rann is a hard-hitting film that attempts to expose the behind-the-scenes truth of how a truth-telling machinery by the very virtue of its positioning has no choice but to corrupt itself to become a money-making and power-brokering enterprise.
