Richard Gere a back-up for Ben in Teen Patti

When it comes to the Big B’s latest, Teen Patti, people often bombard director Leena Yadav and producer Ambika Hinduja about Richard Gere’s role in the film.
Remember, it was the buzz of tinseltown not so long ago, that the still-sexy Gere had a role in the film? And now, both Leena and Ambika have the same answer, “But he is not there in the movie!” Then why was everyone talking about it? “We had Richard Gere as a back-up.Initially, when we thought of asking Ben Kingsley to play a part, we were apprehensive about whether he would agree or not.
So then, we had decided to have a back-up plan – Richard Gere, just in case Ben refuses... But guess what? Ben agreed. What else could we ask for!” says an excited Ambika. “Ben’s role is that of the world’s greatest living Mathematician – who meets Maths genius Amitabh Bachchan in India. And we thought Ben is perfect for the role,” adds Leena.
