Rhea Chakraborty opens up about her days in Byculla jail: 'The jailer came up to me and said...'
Rhea recently was in conversation with author
Chetan Bhagat on his podcast. Talking about her jail ordeal she said, “I had promised all the girls in the jail that I’d dance for them the day I got bail. They were like, ‘Aap heroine ho. Aap dance kar ke batao’. However, I was heartbroken as my brother didn’t get bail. The jailer came up to me and said, ‘I have told them that you won’t dance’. But I told the jailer, ‘I want to [dance] for them because when am I going to see these women again? ”
“If I can give them a little bit of happiness in their otherwise hopeless lives, I want to give them. Hence, I danced for them. I did a full-on Naagin dance, that too on the floor, on the song ‘Naagin Gin Gin’. Everyone did a dance performance with me. They were so happy that I was going home. They told me, ‘Just be happy. Have a good life, ” she added.
