Not many in B-town are fans of the quirky Ram Gopal Varma especially after a string of average movies that hit the marquee from his stable in the recent past.
While his frank talk may not go down too well with many politically correct stars, the fact remains that everybody - secretly or openly - admire his guts and talent. If Mahesh Bhatt called his recent film, Not A Love Story a game changer and said that RGV 'deserves a standing ovation for making an outstanding film', the Not a Love Story star Deepak Dobriyal admits that Ram Gopal Varma was one of his reasons to enter Bollywood.

Says the actor, "RGV toh ek master aadmi hai, a master director! When I came to the industry his office was one of the first places where I left my pics and portfolio. I just wanted to work with him at any cost. And three years went by and I got no call."
So, how did he get this film? Deepak answers: "I got a call from his office three months ago and I did not even ask what the role is. When I got the offer, I just said yes. It was my dream to work with RGV when I made my foray into Bollywood and this dream was coming true; so why would I question the role? After all, Ramu ji thought I'd fit in it and his casting always has been perfectso who was I to question it?"
And what about RGV's frank talk which often rubs people the wrong way? Deepak laughs and says, "He is that kind of a person! In theatre, we are taught to always let out our first thought. In a way that clears the thinking process. I guess RGV just does that. What he thinks he says and that's a cleansing of sorts for the mind."
