At loggerheads now with Sanjay Leela Bhansali (SLB) after his comments on Guzaarish, Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) is ready to fight him where it matters most – the box office.
Maverick as well as volatile, RGV is known to have taken many heavyweights in Tinseltown head on, and among those he has constantly locked horns with is Karan Johar.
BT has learned that the mercurial filmmaker is now trying to get under SLB’s skin by releasing his Rakht Charitra 2 opposite Guzaarish in a clear attempt to eat into the revenues that SLB would have made had his film seen a solo release.
1x1 polls

Trouble started brewing between them when RGV openly stated to people that he did not like the promos of Guzaarish. He went to town on how he disapproves of Aishwarya brushing Hrithik’s teeth and washing his hair. In particular, RGV disagreed with how SLB, known for his grandeur, opulence and attention to detail, had treated the subject of a man who is paralysed and wheel-chair bound.
This resulted in SLB telling RGV to mind his own business. Now, in retaliation, RGV will have his film clash with SLB’s.
When contacted, RGV told BT, “Guzaarish is about love and Rakht Charita is about hate. May the purest emotion win.”
