Producer Bipin Kumar Vohra almost decided not to work with any director of Bengal after the Yatra fiasco. The film at one time was almost not to see the light of the day. Now a year after its release, he has reason to cheer. Director-cinematographer Goutam Ghosh has won the National Award for Best Cinematography for this film.
And in a rare statement, none other than the heroine of the movie,
Rekha has said, I had many problems with Goutamda while shooting the film.
But I must compliment him for his excellent cinematography. He used certain dark colours with amazing effect to depict pensive moods. He used unconventional angles to photograph some of Nana Patekar and my emotional scenes which very few cameramen will dare to take. In the last 10 minutes of the film where I break down after the demise of Nana he photographed me with a lyrical grace which was poetry in motion.
