Rekha touches Shatrughan Sinha's feet as she attends his 79th birthday celebration with family

Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha, along with her family, recently organised a grand birthday celebration for her father, Shatrughan Sinha, and her husband, Zaheer Iqbal. This marked the first time the duo celebrated their milestones together as a family. Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha turned 79 on December 9, followed by Zaheer's 36th birthday the next day.

What captured the internet's attention was a heartwarming gesture by actress Rekha, who expressed her respect towards the ‘Sabak’ actor in a beautiful way. Sonakshi shared glimpses of the celebration with her fans through a video on her YouTube channel. The festive gathering included close family and friends, as well as Bollywood icon Rekha, who has shared the screen with Shatrughan Sinha in several hit films.

Rekha paid her respects to the legendary actor by touching his feet upon entering the venue, a gesture that left him visibly moved and overwhelmed with joy. Rekha was seen dressed in a white and gold silk saree, paired with elegant white and gold jewellery.


Sonakshi's mother, Poonam Sinha, introduced Rekha as her "soul sister" during the celebrations. Zaheer also displayed his respect towards Rekha by touching her feet to seek blessings before his special day.

However, Sonakshi's brothers, Luv and Kussh Sinha, were not present at the celebrations and were notably absent from her intimate wedding last June, which was held at Sonakshi's Mumbai residence with close friends and relatives in attendance. Reflecting on their absence, Shatrughan Sinha had previously expressed his understanding of his sons’ feelings and decisions regarding the events.

During the party, Sonakshi shared a nostalgic moment as she unveiled a special collection of vintage film magazines featuring her father on the cover. Dating back to 1972, these magazines had been gifted to her and carefully preserved in plastic wraps, showcasing her deep admiration for her father’s illustrious career.
