Raza Murad left for Lahore via Wagah border, Amritsar, on Saturday afternoon. The actor, who crossed the Radcliffe line (international border) on foot, was with his family. According to sources, Raza will be taking part in a programme there and will stay in Lahore for few days. Last year too, Raza, who was strongly in support of Sarabjit Singh’s release, had gone to Lahore on a special invitation from the Cultural Journalist Association of Pakistan (CJAP).
At that time, he’d expressed his desire to talk to the filmmakers of Pakistan to collaborate and produce movies which promotes peace and harmony between the two nations. “He will be meeting a lot of people, including producers, there,” a source said.
Recently, veteran actor Om Puri was in Lahore along with actress Divya Dutta for the play Teri Amrita.
