Ravi Kishan reveals his career didn't take off despite working with Sridevi, Dharmendra and Salman Khan; says it pushed him towards Bhojpuri films

Ravi Kishan expressed disappointment about his Bollywood career not reaching the heights he had hoped for, despite working alongside established stars like Sridevi, Salman Khan, and Dharmendra.

In an interview with Brut India, Ravi expressed his disappointment regarding his Bollywood career's lack of significant breakthrough, despite his collaborations with well-established figures like Sridevi, Salman Khan, and Dharmendra. He reflected on his aspirations during the 1990s when actors like Akshay Kumar rose to prominence, hoping for a similar breakthrough. Despite his attributes such as stature, voice, and physique, success eluded him in the industry.



In response to his struggles in Bollywood, Ravi Kishan channeled his frustrations into a constructive endeavor. He initiated the Bhojpuri industry, where he found success and became a prominent figure, ultimately generating employment for thousands within the sector.




He mentioned that he received Rs 75,000 for the film, of which Rs 25,000 was allocated to action sequences. Utilizing the skills and knowledge gained from the Hindi film industry, he endeavored to portray himself as their own young hero.



After leaving his village to pursue acting, Ravi gained prominence through his participation in the inaugural season of the reality show Bigg Boss in 2006. This marked the beginning of significant opportunities, including roles in films by renowned directors such as Mani Ratnam, Shyam Benegal, and Anurag Kashyap, leading to a successful career in both Hindi and Telugu cinema.

Recently, Ravi appeared in two Hindi projects – 'Laapataa Ladies' and 'Maamla Legal Hai.' His upcoming Bhojpuri film, 'Mahadev ka Gorakhpur,' holds significant importance for him as he believes it will rejuvenate the declining Bhojpuri film industry.
