Raveena Tandon to play Niira Radia
Her comeback film Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap released only a few days ago and Raveena Tandon is already back on the sets, filming for Sojan Joseph’s Alert in Goa.
And rumour has it that her co-star Sanjay Dutt might have been responsible for getting the actress on-board. But more than the casting, it’s her role that is garnering attention.
Reportedly, the self-proclaimed non-political Tandon, is essaying the controversial, corporate lobbyist, Niira Radia in the film.
A source told us, “Raveena plays a glamorous, sexy, high-profile lobbyist, who befriends the most powerful politicians and industrialists and even gets embroiled in a phone-tapping scam.” Apparently many details from Radia’s life have been incorporated into creating Tandon’s character.
The source also explained that the filmmakers have intentionally avoided naming Tandon’s character Niira Radia, as they wanted to highlight deeper resemblances. The actress has been reading up extensively on Radia’s life to prepare for the role. “Raveena thinks Radia is a victim of the system and did not do any wrong knowingly. But at the same time, Raveena doesn’t want to play Radia as a victim,” added the source.
When contacted, Tandon refrained from divulging any details and simply said, “I am not saying anything. Watch the film. You’ll know."
