Rati's son makes his debut
TOI has managed to get exclusive photographs of 80s superstar Rati Agnihotri’s 23-year-old, six feet tall, good-looking son Tanuj Virwani and co-star
Neha Hinge, the winner of Pantaloons Femina Miss India (2010). The star-kid and the beauty pageant winner have been signed by newcomer Joe Rajan for his directorial debut with the romantic comedy Luv U Soniyo. Says Joe, “I’m one of the fortunate few.

I had a dream, a creative streak and some very close friends (like Madhur Bhandarkar) in Bollywood. So I have the good fortune to see my dream come true.’’
Luv U Soniyo, as the title suggests, is a romantic film between a Catholic boy and a Punjabi girl who ignite sparks whenever their paths cross. The director says he got plain lucky with his very first film. “Like every filmmaker who makes a love story, I wanted a fresh-looking pair for my film. I also knew that if I managed to get a star- son, my film would automatically be elevated.
“Madhur knew that Rati’s son Tanuj was looking for a break. He was already in talks with a couple of established banners who were keen to sign him on. However, Madhur spoke to Anil Virwani (Rati’s husband) for me and Tanuj who heard my script liked it.
“As for Neha, Madhur was to do a movie with her but since my film is going on the floors immediately he felt it would be a good break for her. That’s how I found my heroine,’’ he reveals.
Once the lead pair had been finalised, Joe decided to find the best acting talent for the supporting cast. Even the soundtrack is ready. Luv U Soniyo, produced by Harvey India Productions and co-produced by Beena Hemanshu Mehta and Pradeep Goradia of Odyssey Corporation Ltd, will be shot extensively in Mumbai and the virgin locales of Mexico. Before 2011 ends, Bollywood may just have yet another bankable star-on on its muster.
