Agnihotri, who got married in 1985 when she was at peak of her career, has alleged that her husband was constantly harassing and torturing her. The police have said that though the couple is married for so many years, the harassment has recently started after Rati’s husband suffered losses in business.
In her complaint to police on Saturday, she said that she had come to register the complaint after the March 7 incident. On March 7, 2015, he took up a fight with her on a petty issue and after which he allegedly assaulted her. “We have registered a harassment case against her husband under IPC 498 A, 323 and 506 of torture, assault and death threats. We will soon be summoning her husband in this context,”said Vinay Kulkarni, senior inspector of Worli Police station.
