Rashmika Mandanna says she would marry Vijay Deverakonda amidst rumours of their wedding: 'I can take a bullet for my partner'
Rashmika Mandanna has once again made headlines after reports of her engagement to Vijay Deverakonda surfaced, followed by rumours that the two might tie the knot in February 2026. Amid the buzz, the actress opened up about her idea of love and the qualities she looks for in a partner. For those not in the know, rumours were rife that Rashmika and Vijay have gotten engaged. After these reports, Vijay's team confirmed the engagement, though neither Rashmika nor Vijay have confirmed or spoken about it on their social media or publicly. The actress though is seen flaunting her engagement ring everywhere. Amidst engagement talks, Rashmika has now opened up on her idea of relationship and marriage.
When asked about her type when it comes to a partner, Rashmika shared during a campus interaction on Honest Townhall, “My type is honestly someone who is capable of understanding at a deep level. I am not talking in the generic sense. It is an understanding of life from his own perspective. How does he perceive certain situations? I want someone who is open to understanding. Someone who is genuinely nice and someone who can fight a war with me, or for me. If there is a war against me tomorrow, I know that man will fight with me. I will do the same. I will take a bullet for him any day. That is my kind of person.”
She was then asked who she would kill, marry or date among all the actors she has worked with so far. Rashmika replied that she would date Naruto (the anime character) and marry Vijay Deverakonda. This led to a loud cheer from the audience.
Her comment added fuel to the ongoing wedding speculation. A source told HT that Rashmika has already started preparing for the big day and even visited Udaipur to explore venues for a “grand celebration.” Another source close to Vijay’s team told India Today that “the couple is indeed planning to wed next year,” with preparations for a February ceremony already in motion.
Rashmika and Vijay have been linked since their 2018 film ‘Geetha Govindam’ and later starred together in ‘Dear Comrade’ in 2019. Although they never confirmed their relationship, fans have often spotted them vacationing together and sharing pictures from similar locations.
In 2024, both actors admitted they were not single but didn’t name their partners. Later, Vijay’s team confirmed to HT that the two were engaged. Shortly after, Rashmika was seen flaunting her engagement ring in a video with her pet dog. But fans are anxiously waiting for the couple to make the official announcement and open up on their relationship.

It's sickening to see how much people are interested in that. Human is not just physical, it's also a personality and a psychology at play, living one's individuality, living one's connection with the world. Publicising personal live and talking about other's lives is wrong and beneath a civilised society. Live and let live, blossom and let people blossom. We should learn to concentrate on oneself.Read allPost comment
