Raquel Welch dies at 82; Kareena Kapoor Khan pays a heartfelt tribute

Hollywood icon Raquel Welch died yesterday following a brief illness. The 82-year-old star rose to fame in the ‘60s and ‘70s with films such as Fantastic Voyage and One Million Years BC.
Kareena Kapoor Khan paid a heartfelt tribute to the late actress on Instagram. She also posted a picture of the star on her Instagram stories.
Fantastic Voyage, Raquel’s film with Stephen Boyd and Edmund O’Brien was a true forerunner of the science fiction genre.The film shows a group of people in a submarine, who are shrunk into mini-versions of themselves so that they could be injected into the veins of a scientist who was targeted for assassination. In this way, the other scientists had hoped to save his life.
In her other film, One Million Years BC, which was also released in 1966 and which later won an Academy Award, Raquel was pictured coming out of the sea in a suggestive furry swimsuit.
Kareena had put up a bewitchingly beautiful picture of a young Raquel Welch from her early days. The picture was captioned, 1940 to 2023.
